Welcoming 2026: Building Sustainable Communities & Empowering Youth via Environmental Education & Climate Action Across Canada
Happy New Year to our volunteers, students, partners, sponsors, and supporters across Canada. Environmental Education for a Better Earth Canada (EEFABE Canada) is excited to begin another year of impactful Environmental Education & Climate Action, education, and community engagement.
This message shares our progress, our impact, and our ambitious vision for the year ahead, grounded in our mission to empower youth and communities through climate change education, sustainability programs, and nature-based solutions in Canada and Sub-Saharan Africa.
2025 Review: Expanding Climate Education & Community Solutions in Canada
In 2025, our climate education and sustainability programs continued to grow across neighbourhoods, schools, and community spaces.
Our after‑school interactive climate curriculum equipped young people with critical climate literacy, leadership skills, and hands‑on sustainability knowledge.
Key achievements included:
- Growing nature-based solutions, such as community gardens, tree planting, and restoration initiatives aimed at improving biodiversity and climate resilience.
- Strengthening sustainable neighbourhood initiatives, helping communities adopt climate-smart habits and reduce environmental impact.
- Expanding climate advocacy programs, empowering young people and communities to engage in environmental policy and sustainability campaigns.
Your contributions — through volunteering, donations, and partnerships — made all of this possible
Our Vision for 2026: Scaling Environmental Impact Across Canada
Canada faces increasing environmental challenges, and 2026 is an important year for action, collaboration, and innovation. Our goals this year include:
1. Growing the EEFABE Canada Team
We are expanding our team to support program delivery, research, climate advocacy, partnerships, and community engagement across more regions.
2. Expanding Climate Change, Environmental Education & Sustainability Programs
We will expand our environmental education & climate action outreach, after-school climate curricula, educational workshops, e-learning platform, and climate literacy programs to ensure more youth have access to environmental knowledge and sustainable development skills. Climate education remains central to our mission.
3. Strengthening Nature-Based Solutions for Community Resilience
In 2026, we will increase the number of fruit and vegetable gardens, restoration projects, and sustainable neighbourhood initiatives. These ecosystem-based solutions help communities improve biodiversity, enhance food security, and build resilience to climate change, initiatives that help Canadians adopt low‑carbon lifestyles.
4. Supporting Youth Advocacy on Global Environmental Platforms
We will continue preparing Canadian youth for participation in high‑levelProgramme local and global decision-making spaces, including the Youth Environment Assembly (YEA), the United Nations Environment Progamme (UNEP) related meetings and workshops, Intergovernmental Panel on climate Change (IPCC), and related climate forums. This ensures youth voices drive environmental solutions and climate justice worldwide
5. Strengthening Cross-Border Collaboration
Our Cameroon and Canada teams will continue working as a unified family, sharing expertise, resources, and innovation to build a global community committed to sustainability and climate literacy.
Our Commitment in 2026: Climate Education, Equity & Empowerment
EEFABE remains dedicated to:
- Youth empowerment and leadership development
- Community-driven environmental action
- Accessible climate education for all
- Nature-based solutions and sustainable practices
- Transparency, integrity, and community-centered impact
