DESCRIPTION:Guided Nature Walk & Stewardship Learning Experience\n\n \nJoin us for an engaging guided walk through the beautiful Black Creek Forest Parkland Ravine and discover one of Toronto’s important natural ecosystems. \nThis interpretive nature walk will take participants along the ravine’s trails to explore local forests\, wildlife habitats\, biodiversity\, and watershed systems. Along the way\, participants will learn about the ecological importance of Toronto’s ravines and how healthy urban green spaces contribute to environmental and community well-being. \nParticipants will also have the opportunity to visit areas where community-led efforts have helped remove legacy plastic pollution from the ravine\, offering a firsthand look at how environmental stewardship can make a positive impact on local ecosystems. \nWhether you are new to the area\, interested in nature\, or simply curious about the green spaces in your neighbourhood\, this event is a welcoming opportunity to: \n\nLearn about the biodiversity of the Black Creek Ravine\nExplore local trails with guided interpretation\nDiscover the importance of watersheds and urban ecosystems\nConnect with neighbours and community members\nGain inspiration for environmental stewardship and conservation\n\nThis event is especially suited for residents who may not regularly visit Toronto’s ravines and would like to learn more about these unique natural spaces. \nWhat to Bring\n\nClosed-toe walking or hiking shoes with good traction\nLong pants and socks to help protect against insects and vegetation\nWeather-appropriate clothing (light layers are recommended)\nHat and sunscreen for sun protection\nReusable water bottle\nInsect repellent\, if desired\nCuriosity and enthusiasm for nature\n\nRespecting the Ravine\nTo help protect this important natural area\, participants will be asked to stay on designated trails\, observe wildlife from a respectful distance\, and follow Leave No Trace principles throughout the event. \nRegistration Information:\nRegistration is free.
