Take Climate Action.Looking for a fun\, healthy\, and meaningful way to spend time outdoors this summer?   Join Pedal to Nature\, a free community cycling and environmental education program designed to help youth\, families\, and adults build cycling confidence\, connect with nature\, and take climate action in their daily lives.   Delivered by a Neighbourhood Climate Action Champion in partnership with the registered charity Environmental Education for a Better Earth Canada (EEFABE Canada)\, Pedal to Nature combines bicycle skills training\, guided nature rides\, and environmental learning experiences that encourage active transportation and environmental stewardship.   Why Pedal to Nature?Cycling is one of the simplest ways individuals can reduce transportation-related greenhouse gas emissions while improving health and well-being. Through this program\, participants will: Develop safe cycling skills and confidenceLearn about local ecosystems\, wildlife\, rivers\, and pollinatorsExplore Toronto’s beautiful trail systems and green spacesConnect climate action with everyday transportation choicesMeet neighbours and enjoy outdoor recreationDevelop a greater appreciation for nature and environmental stewardshipProgram Activities  🚲 Cycling Skills TrainingAll training sessions will take place at:   Fred Young Park440 Cook RoadNorth York\, ON M3J 1L4   Training sessions (morning and evening) include: Bicycle safety checksBraking and turning techniquesHand signals and communicationGroup riding etiquetteTrail safety awarenessClimate action educationLocal ecology and biodiversity learningParticipants should attend at least one training session before participating in organized rides.   🌳 Guided Nature Ride: Black Creek Parkland TrailA beginner-friendly ride suitable for: YouthFamiliesNew cyclistsCommunity members interested in natureParticipants will explore: Native plantsPollinatorsUrban biodiversityWatershedsClimate action in local neighbourhoods🌿 Black Creek Parkland Trail to Downsview Park TrailDesigned for intermediate riders looking to build confidence and endurance while exploring Toronto’s urban green spaces.   🚴 Humber River Eco-RideThis extended guided ride follows sections of the Humber River Recreational Trail and is intended for experienced cyclists and approved participants.   Topics include: River ecosystemsHabitat conservationClimate resilienceNature-based solutionsEnvironmental stewardshipParticipation is subject to organizer approval and cycling ability.   Equipment Support AvailableWe believe everyone should have access to active transportation opportunities. A limited number of bicycles and helmets may be available for participants who do not have access to their own equipment.
