Ulrich Stephane Tchiegdjo Tamo
Ulrich Stephane Tchiegdjo Tamo is an environmental leader and educator with over eight years of experience advancing climate action, ecological restoration, and community‑based sustainability across Canada and internationally. He is the founder and Executive Director of Environmental Education for a Better Earth (EEFABE), a UNEP‑accredited charity focused on environmental protection, pollution reduction, and climate change education.
Ulrich’s work spans ecosystem restoration, youth climate leadership, and public environmental education. He has contributed to global environmental processes through the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), including the UNEA Major Groups and the Intergovernmental Negotiating Committee on plastic pollution. He also engages in environmental policy development through the African Ministerial Conference on the Environment (AMCEN).
In Canada, Ulrich integrates scientific fieldwork with community engagement as a Field Researcher and Environmental Outreach Specialist. He is trained as a Ravine Champion by Park People Canada, focusing on urban ecological restoration and stewardship; a Roots to Resilience Champion through Black Creek Community
Farm’s Market Garden program, emphasizing food security, soil health, and community resilience in this rapidly changing climate; and a Forest Pathways trainee with Outward Bound Canada, where he developed skills in outdoor leadership, ecological awareness, and nature‑based education.
His past leadership includes serving as Cameroon Country Lead for the African Climate Reality Project, contributing to UNESCO and MECCE’s Climate Change Education country profile, and coordinating youth‑focused climate advocacy networks. Ulrich has designed environmental curricula, led volunteer teams, and implemented nature‑based solutions such as urban gardens, tree planting, and community restoration projects.
Fluent in English and French, Ulrich brings expertise in environmental science, GIS, data analysis, and digital collaboration. He is a Climate Reality Leader, a member of The Queen’s Commonwealth Trust, and a Neighbourhood Climate Action Champion with the City of Toronto. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science from the University of Buea.
