Youth in Environmental Policy

At Environmental Education for a Better Earth Canada, youth leadership in environmental policy is central to our mission. We believe that empowering young people to understand, influence, and participate in environmental decision‑making is essential for building a sustainable, equitable future. As a UN‑accredited organization, we work to ensure that youth voices are represented in climate governance both nationally and internationally.

Through our policy engagement initiatives, we equip young people with the knowledge, skills, and platforms needed to contribute meaningfully to environmental policies, climate negotiations, and sustainability frameworks. Here’s why youth participation in environmental policy matters.

Young people are among the most affected by climate change, yet they remain underrepresented in policy discussions. Ensuring youth inclusion in environmental decision‑making is a core focus of our work. Environmental policies shape how communities respond to climate risks, manage natural resources, and protect ecosystems.
